Multitalented singer, songwriter, & producer Francis Jocky is something of an enigma, an artist with a universal appeal. Raised in Paris, France and now living in New York City, Jocky has developed a sound that transcends borders. He’s rapidly becoming an international personality, sharing the microphone with the likes of Bono of U2 and Stevie Wonder, just to name a few. His latest project- An EP entitle "SANCTIFIED", produced and recorded in New York City, features some of music top producers and recording engineers including extraordinary writer Andrew Wyatt and Grammy Award Winner Scott Jacoby (John Legend, Ayo, Naturally Seven, etc.).
On "SANCTIFIED" Jocky blends aspects of Classic Rock n Roll, Pop, and Soul into a patchwork of tracks that will find a home in any true music lover’s collection.
Jocky has a wonderful duality as an artist, which probably has its roots in his combined educational and musical training. He is the recipient of a PhD from the prestigious Sorbonne University in Paris. "I have traveled the world, and there is no place like New York. The energy keeps you moving- it's raw and it fusels your creativity. The city challenges you to be the best yet, it has no place for compassion". It only demands the best and that what "SANCTIFIED" is says Francis Jocky.

Hi Music Lovers,
I am writing from Stranded in Stereo, and I want to let you know about the monthly club night that we do in NY! We started this February and featured such up-and-coming bands as Chairlift, Ambulance LTD, Apache Beat, Emmy the Great, Simon Says No!, and The Red Romance. Our mantra is simple -- book great bands before the buzz tsunami has taken them over and have fun doing it.
Our next gig will be at Fontana's on Wed. 11/19 @ 9 pm, and this
month's featured bands will be Simplifires, Cinema Cinema, and Boy
Genius -- three acts we are very excited about! The door price is
cheap: $3.

BOY GENIUS (9:30pm)
Boy Genius is an equation between strained but strong vocals, harmonica and
horns, standard instruments, unique simplicity, two guys and two girls.
While they draw comparisons to Pavement and REM, there's something so much
more darling about their sound--and there's something about them that you
have to listen to again. Boy Genius engages you before you even realize how
much you like them. They're definitely catchy without being raucous, and
they're definitely warm without being fuzzy.

CINEMA, CINEMA (10:15)
Cinema, Cinema is inspired by the titular subject--cinema, and the motion
and elements that contribute to it. The band takes this ideology into their
music. Loud drums, driven riffs, and passionate vocals contribute to a punk,
space-rock movement, scenery, and sound. Their first EP was born out of
Headgear Studios, home to the likes of TV on the Radio and the Yeah Yeah
Yeahs. Cinema, Cinema is not just music, but an art.

SIMPLIFIERS (11:00)
Using the internet, Simplifiers have spread their popularity from Mexico to
all over the internet. But their popularity comes from a sound of
juxtaposition between the vocals and pure musicianship that bring reminders
of U2 and a groove unique to themselves. Their musical connections include
Ratatat and a friendship amongst themselves that forces the band to create a
synergy between themselves that contributes so much to their great sound.

A master magician and comic, Jay Alexander is one of the top corporate and society entertainers in the country. He has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, MTV and a favorite on many local morning shows. Star of the award winning cd-rom “Learn the Art of Magic,” Jay creates customized shows for Fortune 500 companies and is a consultant and co-author of many magic books.
Jay is the great-grandson of the legendary vaudeville performer, Gentleman Ben Darwin. As a child he found a trunk in his grandparents' attic filled with magic and escapes. His interest in magic took-off from there. At the age of fourteen Jay was honored to be the youngest recipient of the Society of American Magicians' Gold Medal of Honor.
